Making Monday Pretty: How to Beat Chapped Lips
Posted by Hayley French on
Tis the season for dry, dehydrated skin, and one of the worst side effects of winter dryness is chapped lips. Not only can they be painful and irritated, they also make wearing your favourite shade of lipstick hard to apply. Here is the best way we've found to combat chapped lips.
1. At night before bed, slather your lips with a balm packed with nourishing and healing ingredients, our favourite is Reve de Miel's Lip Balm and La Roche Posay's Ceralip as they are both nice and thick and will stay on your lips throughout the night.
2. In the morning after washing your face, apply a layer of petroleum based balm like Vaseline or Aquaphor that will seal in moisture and leave this on while you style your hair and do your makeup.
3. When you're done your makeup, take a wash cloth and gently rub the balm off in circular motions. The texture of the wash cloth will exfoliate your lips and will leave a light layer of balm behind, perfectly prepped for your lipstick to follow!
Have a beautiful Monday everyone!
